Timothy Oxendale

Freelance Web Designer & Developer

I’m a freelance web designer & developer with a background in marketing. I work mainly from my office in Bilston (Wolverhampton) and in and around Birmingham, UK.

Just so you know a little bit about me, my name is Timothy Oxendale, I am 27 years old and I was born and raised in Blackburn, Lancashire. I moved from Blackburn, down to the Midlands over 8 years ago and I am now living in Bilston, Wolverhampton, West Midlands. I spend a lot of my time working in and around Birmingham.

I have been designing websites since I was 14 years old, but as a professional freelance web designer and developer for over 6 years.

I am available to work on new projects, if you would like to discuss this with me, then please do get in touch and I can have a chat about your project in a bit more detail. I am also available for work with agencies across the Midlands, get in touch for my day rate.

I work with a wide range of clients, from small one man bands, right up to huge multi-national companies and charities such as Dyson, Mitsubishi & the Scout Association. So if you will excuse the cliché, there is no client too big or too small. I aim to have a great relationship with all my clients where I can add value to their business by being dependable, honest and by doing the type of work that makes a difference. I will always recommend a solution I think will work best for your business.

I’ll be offering my services pro-bono, to charities or non-profit organisations in and around the Midlands. I’ll be doing this one day every month. Get in contact if you feel you could benefit from this service.

I have a simplified design style, I believe design should work with content, not dominate it. The same can be said for how I build websites. I like to keep my website markup clean and optimised for search engines. I believe usability is an integral part of the design and development process and something I’m constantly striving to improve.

Carbon Positive

I carefully calculate the carbon emissions produced as a result of my web site server being on 24 hours a day, computer for 8 hours a day, lighting, transport and a few other bits I then offset these emissions by planting trees in the West Midlands. As the trees I plant are young, and will absorb much more carbon as they grow, I ensure the long term goal of being carbon positive.

I built my computer specifically to use as little power as possible while still allowing me to work efficiently and fast, I also use two A energy performance rated monitors and A rated peripherals.

My office has large windows to allow natural daylight into my working area and when the natural light levels get low I take advantage of the latest LED luminaires that offer excellent energy savings.

When I need to get out and about I drive a Kia Rio that gets about 70mpg.

All my standard paper and media come from well managed sustainable forests with FSC or PEFC certifications.
